Stucco

Stucco, Matched and Built to Last

Stucco is one of those trades where the prep work decides whether it lasts ten years or forty. We do the prep work.

Overview

What this service actually is.

Most stucco failures we see — cracks, delamination, water intrusion — trace back to lath, paper, weep screed, or expansion joints, not the texture coat. Our crews are trained to do those layers properly.

We do new stucco for additions, full re-stucco on existing homes, and color-matched patch repairs around windows, doors, and re-routed plumbing penetrations.

What's included

  • Existing stucco assessment
  • Two-layer paper, galvanized lath, proper weep screed
  • Scratch, brown, and finish coats
  • Texture matching — sand, lace, smooth, Santa Barbara
  • Expansion joints and control joints where required
  • Color packs or paint-grade integral color
  • Caulking at transitions
Our process

How a stucco project runs.

01

Consultation

We start with a no-pressure consultation — usually a walkthrough at your home — to understand how you use the space, the constraints, and what a successful stucco project looks like for you.

02

Design & Scope

We translate the goals into drawings, materials, and a written scope with realistic line-item pricing. Nothing vague, nothing buried.

03

Permits & Pre-Construction

We pull permits, finalize selections, schedule trades, and protect the rest of your home before demolition. You receive a written timeline.

04

Build

One project manager, consistent crew, weekly written updates, and clean job sites. Inspections handled by us.

05

Punch List & Closeout

We walk the project with you, complete the punch list, hand over warranties and care guides, and stay reachable after closeout.

Common concerns

What homeowners ask before signing.

Can you match the existing texture?

In most cases yes. We do test panels for sand, lace, and smooth finishes before committing on the wall.

Cracks — do they mean failure?

Hairline cracks are common and largely cosmetic. Wider cracks, especially at corners or below windows, can indicate movement or water issues — we assess before quoting a fix.

When can it be painted?

Standard cure time is 28 days before paint. We use that window for other punch items.

Where we work

Stucco across SoCal and the Bay Area.

Our SoCal office is in Van Nuys. Most stucco projects we run are within the San Fernando Valley, Westside, Conejo Valley, Pasadena area, or — on the Bay Area side — across the Peninsula from San Mateo through San Jose.

FAQ

Frequently asked

Smooth or textured?
Both. Smooth and Santa Barbara finishes require more skill and material; we do them when the architecture calls for it.
Can you fix water intrusion?
We address the underlying cause — flashing, paper, drainage — not just the visible repair.
Foam shapes and trim?
Yes, including foam window trim, banding, and quoining details.
