Decks Built for Years of Real Use
Old decks usually need more than a refinish. We look at structure, ledger, and flashing first, then decide what's worth keeping.
What this service actually is.
Deck remodels are easy to underestimate. Many older decks have undersized ledger boards, missing flashing, or rotted posts that surface refinishing won't solve. We evaluate honestly and rebuild what needs rebuilding.
We build in cedar, redwood, ipe, and composite (Trex, TimberTech). Railings, stairs, and integrated lighting handled to match.
What's included
- Structural inspection
- Ledger flashing and waterproofing
- Footings and posts replaced as needed
- Decking install with proper spacing and fastener pattern
- Railings and stairs to code
- Integrated low-voltage lighting (optional)
How a deck remodels project runs.
Consultation
We start with a no-pressure consultation — usually a walkthrough at your home — to understand how you use the space, the constraints, and what a successful deck project looks like for you.
Design & Scope
We translate the goals into drawings, materials, and a written scope with realistic line-item pricing. Nothing vague, nothing buried.
Permits & Pre-Construction
We pull permits, finalize selections, schedule trades, and protect the rest of your home before demolition. You receive a written timeline.
Build
One project manager, consistent crew, weekly written updates, and clean job sites. Inspections handled by us.
Punch List & Closeout
We walk the project with you, complete the punch list, hand over warranties and care guides, and stay reachable after closeout.
What homeowners ask before signing.
Composite or wood?
Composite is lower maintenance and uniform; wood ages with character but requires sealing. Both can look excellent done well.
Do we need a permit?
Most new decks above 30" require permits. We pull what's needed.
Can you save the existing structure?
Sometimes. We probe for rot and check ledger before quoting.
